When you are looking for a fireplace or a best wood burning stove, it is important that you find a model that, in terms of size, and thus heat-yielding, fits the needs and size of the room in which it is to be mounted. If you choose too big a wood stove, you tend to fire too little and with too low a temperature so as not to get it too hot in the room.
You will thus find it difficult to achieve the correct temperature in the combustion chamber, whereby you can subsequently experience poorer combustion and problems with flue gases and fouling windows, which give more pollution. A fireplace insert has the advantage that it does not fill the room. It will thus appear more anonymous. At the same time you will find that you have an incredibly large view of the flames in the fireplace, as the window on a fireplace insert is typically larger than a corresponding kW stove.
The price for a good fireplace insert is about the same as for a good wood burning stove. It is still legal requirement that you have a floor plate in front of the fireplace insert, but here you can settle for a much smaller size, which at the same time can be moved when washing floors or vacuuming. We recommend one of the following floor plates for fireplace inserts.
